Autumn...my favorite time of year!

The months pass with some days being better than others. The best days are traveling. I just love to travel. I did go to Nashville, a very fun little city.  It was hot, not as hot as here, and the humidity was a bit less. Open air concerts, antique car show, Country Music Hall of Fame, restaurants, bridge walking and going up to Kentucky to Mammouth Caves, and a stop a the Western Kentucky University! Actually I the WKU and KU both played at the football stadium in Nashville! :D We attended church and the service and music where amazing!

I finished a quilt top, finished squares to make blocks on another quilt and completed a quilt! Whoo too!

Loving the autumn as I do I was lucky enough to have a daughter that wanted to surprise me and took me to New England to see family and to see the start of the leaves turning! It is amazing what a bit of cooler weather and a change of scenery can do the soul!!

We hardly stopped. We went to the beaches, played tourist, visited with family, went to see the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, and the Forefathers Monuments, to Boston, New Hampshire for apple picking and going to an out of the way restaurant and we also went  to Martha's Vineyard.  I think it was 1,000 miles we put on the rental car!!

The apples are from Mac's Apples in New Hampshire. We stopped there to pick out pumpkins and pick apples.  Further up in New Hampshire we headed up to Pickety Place.  The house in the picture is Pickety Place. This house was the one used in the Little Golden Book's version of Little Red Riding Hood's grandmothers house!  It is a lovely place and the lunch was scrumptious, they use their own grown fruits, vegetables and herbs.

It is good to get away, clear one's head, see new things, become anew! It's time to get back into the ole grind.
